Maldives

An exotic adventure available all year round

Why is this expedition special?

Two paradise islands, two different atolls and two completely different faces of the Maldives. Nilandhoo delights with its local atmosphere and intimacy, and Dhigurah offers access to spectacular diving sites and some of the most beautiful beaches in the Indian Ocean.

This is an excellent alternative to the classic diving safari on a boat. Instead of spending the entire trip on board, we live on local islands, enjoy the comfort of land and sail out to the best diving spots every day. After diving, there are beaches, walks, snorkeling, boat trips, sandbanks and the peaceful rhythm of tropical life.

Thanks to this, non-divers can also participate in the expedition. While divers discover reefs, channels and walls full of life, companions can enjoy the charms of the islands, swimming in the lagoon, snorkeling and local attractions.

We adjust the program to the conditions, visibility and activity of animals. Chill&Dive is responsible for organization, logistics and safety, and participants can fully focus on adventure, rest and experiencing the Maldives together.

It is a combination of intense diving, comfort on land, freedom and New Year’s Eve atmosphere in a real paradise on Earth.

What awaits you during your trip?

Two atolls and the most beautiful underwater faces of the Maldives

During the expedition we will discover two different regions of the Maldives: the quiet and intimate Faafu Atoll and the legendary South Ari Atoll. Each of them offers different underwater landscapes, conditions and encounters with the inhabitants of the Indian Ocean.

Faafu Atoll wild reefs and diving away from the crowds

The first base of the expedition will be the local island of Nilandhoo. Faafu Atoll delights with its naturalness, fewer diving boats and places where the ocean still shows its wild face.

Filitheyo Kandu is a spectacular channel known for its reef sharks, eagle rays and huge schools of fish. Currents bring life here and create conditions for exciting dives.

Manta Point a cleaning station where manta rays appear in the appropriate season. Observing these majestic animals is one of the most unique experiences in the Maldives.

Jumping Jack is a system of underwater peaks and reefs, between which we can encounter tunas, sharks, rays and large schools of fish.

The reefs and channels of Faafu Atoll are colorful coral gardens, walls, overhangs and places full of turtles, moray eels, lionfish and small reef life.

South Ari Atoll, the kingdom of the whale shark

The second stage of the expedition will be Dhigurah, located in one of the most famous diving regions of the Maldives. South Ari Atoll is famous for encounters with large ocean animals, dynamic diving and an extraordinary variety of places.

Dhigurah Beyru is an outer reef along the island, patrolled by reef sharks, tuna, eagle rays and schools of predatory fish.

Dhigurah South and Maamigili Beyru area known for the presence of whale sharks. It is here that we have the chance to meet the largest fish in the world while diving or snorkeling.

Kudarah Thila one of the most famous underwater peaks of South Ari Atoll. Steep walls, overhangs and schools of fish create a real underwater spectacle.

Manta Point and cleaning stations are places where manta rays circle over the reef, allowing you to observe them up close in their natural habitat.

The wrecks and underwater formations of South Ari Atoll include submerged vessels, rock arches, caves and thiles covered with coral, inhabited by stingrays, moray eels, nudibranchs and schools of batfish.

Each day can bring completely different experiences, from peaceful dives on reefs, through drifting in ocean channels, to encounters with manta rays, sharks and whale sharks.

The program remains flexible. We choose dive sites based on current conditions, currents, visibility and information about animal activity to make the most of each day of the trip.

Diving courses at every level

During a trip to the Maldives, you can combine extraordinary diving with the development of your skills in the PADI system. Two different atolls, rich reefs and meetings with the largest inhabitants of the Indian Ocean create unique conditions for learning through real experience.

During the trip, we offer the opportunity to complete selected courses and specializations:

PADI Whale Shark Awareness – learn about the biology, behavior and principles of responsible observation of the world’s largest fish.

AWARE Shark & Ray Conservation – learn more about sharks, manta rays and rays and their role in the ocean ecosystem.

PADI Fish Identification – learn to recognize the most important fish families and discover the reef from a completely new perspective.

PADI Underwater Naturalist – learn about the relationships between reef organisms and better understand the extraordinary world beneath the ocean’s surface.

We also provide PADI courses at various levels of advancement, tailored to the participants’ experience and local conditions.

Trainings are conducted by experienced Chill&Dive instructors, with an emphasis on quality, safety and practical skills. This is a unique opportunity to return from the Maldives not only with memories, but also with new knowledge and another PADI certificate.
