Sri Lanka

An exotic adventure available all year round

Why is this trip a unique diving safari?

A diving safari in Sri Lanka is rare and, in this format, almost unique. This trip is unique in that it combines the exploration of three completely different regions of the island in one program: the west, south and east coast. Each of them offers different conditions, different topography and completely different underwater experiences.

This safari does not involve repeated dives from one place. We move according to the best conditions, seasonality and visibility, thanks to which the program is dynamic and adapted to the realities of the ocean. Reefs, walls, wrecks and exploratory places create a coherent but very diverse whole.

The uniqueness of this safari also lies in the balance between adventure and safety. The whole thing is carried out by an experienced team, with full control of logistics, dive planning and procedures. Each day is based on an analysis of conditions, and decisions are made with the group’s comfort and safety in mind.

This is a safari for divers who want to see more than one region, feel the spirit of discovery, but at the same time be sure that everything is well planned and run. Not bulk. Not formulaic. Conscious, diverse and truly unique.

What awaits you during your trip?

Exploring Sri Lanka’s iconic dive sites

Sri Lanka offers an extremely diverse diving mix, combining historic wrecks, pristine reefs and places with a distinct exploratory character. During the safari, we discover the most interesting locations on the western, southern and eastern coast of the island.

Colombo Wrecks – one of the strongest wreck areas on the island; sunken commercial and military vessels, artificial reefs and an industrial bottom landscape, perfect for divers looking for history and depth.

  • SS Rangoon (Unawatuna / Galle) – a classic, historical wreck resting on a sandy bottom, overgrown with corals and full of life; one of the most famous wreck dives in the south.
  • Mirissa Reefs & Points – dynamic diving in contact with the open ocean; rock formations, currents and rich marine life create a sense of true adventure here.
  • Hiriketiya Coastal Sites – intimate, less frequented dive sites with clear water and natural rhythm; perfect for quiet exploration away from mass tourism.
  • Hambantota Wreck & Exploration Area – a more rugged part of the safari, known for wrecks and more demanding conditions; a region with a clearly exploratory character.
  • Trincomalee & Pigeon Island – crystal clear water, extensive reefs, walls and excellent visibility; the eastern coast shows a completely different face of Sri Lanka.
  • HMS Hermes (Pasikudah) – legendary wreck of an aircraft carrier from World War II; one of the most iconic wreck dives in the Indian Ocean region (carried out with appropriate conditions and qualifications).

Each of these places offers a different experience, from relaxing reef dives, through historic wrecks, to locations that require more attention and experience. The safari program is flexible and conducted with full attention to safety, so as to fully exploit the potential of Sri Lanka as an exploration destination.

Diving courses at every level

During our trip to Sri Lanka, we carry out diving courses in the PADI system, conducted in various conditions of the Indian Ocean. It’s the perfect environment to learn and develop, from tranquil reefs to more challenging, exploratory locations.During the safari, we offer the opportunity to participate in the following specialist courses:
  • PADI Wreck Diver – diving on historical wrecks in various regions of the island
  • PADI Sidemount Diver – ideal configuration for exploratory and more advanced dives
  • PADI Night Diver – night dives in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean
The training is carried out in a safe, conscious manner and adapted to the level of participants, with an emphasis on quality, comfort and real diving experience. This is a great opportunity to combine a diving safari with developing skills in a unique, not very obvious direction.
